Week 14 – In Perfect Harmony

musical notes

This week our assignment for the Master Key Mastermind Alliance (MKMMA) was to read Part 14 of The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel. This section taught us about the relationship between the subconscious and conscious mind – the subconscious mind is responsive to the will of the conscious mind. Everything is produced by thought and can be deleted by thought.

The subconscious mind is one with the Universal Mind. We have the power to control our conscious thoughts which the subconscious mind will then put into action. Therefore this connection puts us in touch with the Omnipotent Universal Mind. Wow, that’s a lot to think about!

All the electrons in our body combine into cells, which operate on autopilot to perform their necessary functions, although they’re also responsive to the thoughts of the individual. Our thoughts not only have the power to control our physical health, but also the conditions of our life. To quote Haanel, “Your world without will be a reflection of your world within.”

Therefore, is it not vitally important to learn how to think constructively and deliberately about all the positive conditions we want in our life? The discipline required to do this successfully is extreme; it requires clear, steady, fixed and unflinching attention to keep what you want in your mind’s eye and not let anyone or anything allow you to lose focus. This includes your own self-sabotaging behaviors.

A harmonious life requires harmonious thinking. As I meditate on this concept, I think of all the electrons in my body working in perfect harmony to continue to move me forward to meet my Definite Major Purpose (DMP).

When you’re part of the MKMMA, you feel supported by others on the same journey, much like being in a group fitness class. Instead of working on our abs and triceps, we’re all working on keeping our thinking positive and focused on our respective DMP’s. Anyone embarking on this Hero’s Journey wants their individual electrons to be in perfect harmony, but they also want and need the support of like-minded individuals who  are in harmony with their efforts to strengthen themselves spiritually.  I know from experience that I cannot successfully complete The Master Key System journey alone, and I’m very grateful for my fellow travelers.

Week 13 – The Spectrum of Love

In the Master Key Mastermind Alliance (MKMMA), we’re reminded of the importance of loving all humanity, including ourselves.

In his classic essay, The Greatest Thing in the World, Henry Drummond, lists the nine ingredients of Love, which he calls the “Spectrum of Love or the stature of the perfect man (or woman).”

Since the original post date of this blog post is Christmas week, 2014, I thought it to be an appropriate time to look at these ingredients to love and decide how I can up my game going forward. I decided to look at each of these traits in the context of my Definite Major Purpose (DMP) and my future self, who I am molding quickly as my purpose is starting to manifest.

1. Patience – Through my dedication to the MKMMA, I have improved in this area. I’m so excited about manifesting my DMP, that it takes focus to allow the Universe to control the timing. I know I need to continue to seek improvements in this area, and I’m confident that they will come with my continued discipline to the daily exercises.

2. Kindness – “Loving all humanity” is a great daily mantra to use to keep one in a spirit of kindness and to not judge anyone.  This has helped me enormously to approach everyone I meet with more kindness. Again, I can only see continued improvement in this area.
3. Generosity – I love being generous, and will continue to look for more areas in which to express my generosity.
4. Humility -I feel humble every day, especially when I think of my ambitions Definite Major Purpose. I know I can only manifest it by staying connected to the Universal Source through positive thinking, giving, love,  support, and action.
5. Courtesy – Courtesy goes hand in hand with kindness in my book. “Please” and “Thank you” should be peppered throughout the day, both in and outside the home .
6. Unselfishness – I have no problem with this one. In fact, one of my challenges is to put myself first and get my needs met. “I start each day with love in my heart, and most of all I love myself.”  This feels like a statement in a foreign language to me, which is why I say it every day now!
7. Good temper – I know being Irish is no excuse. I think I have come a long way on this one – in fact I can’t remember the last time I lost my temper (maybe yesterday when my hard boiled eggs fell on the floor, but that was minor).
8. Guilelessness -This means straightforward, frank and honest. Probably I’m too much of all these things, but I’d rather be on that end of the spectrum than inauthentic.
9. Sincerity – Being a parent of three now-adult children and a wife to a really smart and loving guy have blessed me with the best environment I could need to keep things honest.

Drummond reminds us that these traits can be developed by every person and that the focus of the Spectrum of Love is in the context of our relationships with other persons here on earth vs. the here and after. I think this is certainly a timeless and timely reminder for me and I hope for you, reader, as to how we can all become more loving towards each other.

Week 12 – Success is in the Cards

This week in the Master Key Mastermind Alliance (MKMMA) we were asked to make up two index card decks with a past success from our life written on each card. This was a fun exercise because we have been spending so much time looking forward by creating our Definite Major Purpose (DMP) that it was fun to check in the rear view mirror. What I found is that I have a string of impressive successes to use to launch me into the future. My two cards decks filled up fast, and I enjoy shuffling through them for a few minutes twice per day.

My past success include such things as learning to swim, giving birth to three healthy babies and raising them to adulthood, traveling to Cabo San Lucas, and buying and selling multiple homes.

Mark and Davene told us we only had to enter a few words on each index card because our subby would fill in all the blanks of that experience, we would feel all the positive emotions related to it, and we would get flashes of ourselves experiencing each success. As usual, they were so right!

For example, when the card labeled, “Learned to Swim” flashes by, I see myself hopping on my bicycle at age eight and pedaling to the outside pool in Lakewood Park in Lakewood, OH, for early morning swimming lessons. The air is cold and water is freezing, but I’m determined to advance from Dolphin to Fish to Flying Fish and show my whole family how I can dive off the high diving board. I was persistent, enthusiastic, driven, focused, coachable, athletic, and independent during those brisk summer mornings. Do you think those qualities helped me later in life? You bet!

Much later in my life, when I took a trip to Cabo San Lucas from North Carolina, I went alone to meet my brother and his family. Due to an unexpected traffic jam, I missed my flight and had to spend the night near the Raleigh, North Carolina airport, rebook my flights, and go the following day. Once again, I persevered and went on an adventure by myself. The trip turned out to be amazing!  I had so much fun with my relatives and enjoyed the rest and relaxation at the beach. Taking time for myself to recharge is another success quality I espouse.

My subby is doing a good job of helping me relive my past successes. This exercise is bolstering my confidence that I can continue to develop these collective success qualities, add any more that I need for the future, and bring my DMP to life!

To say I’m excited is an understatement!

Week 11 – So How Am I Feeling?

I’m not quite half way through the Master Key Mastermind Alliance (MKMMA) Program, and I decided that today is the day to take an honest inventory about how I’m feeling about this whole experience.

First, I feel incredibly lucky to have found the MKMMA Program at all.  I don’t remember what random clicks on the Internet led me to a Mark J. video and testimonial videos from past participants. I do remember seeing someone I recognized from my network marketing company in one of the testimonials. I had seen her business grow tremendously over the past year, so I thought that was solid evidence that something had propelled her growth. Maybe it was this program! So I took a leap of faith and decided to see if it could help me too.

Second, I feel enlightened as to how much more personal development I needed and will continue to need in order to fulfill my life purpose. Before participating in this program, I thought I was over-developed from decades of immersion in personal development programs and books. What I found though the MKMMA is that “knowledge doesn’t apply itself”, and just like I work out my body each morning to strive for stronger physical health, I need to work out my mind multiple times per day to strive for stronger mental health. Just after two to three weeks in the MKMMA alliance, after devoting myself faithfully to the daily exercises, I noticed a change in my mental strength. This transformation just motivates me to want to get stronger and stronger both physically and mentally.

Third, I feel determined to never give up on my quest to fulfill my life purpose. Last week we learned that the combination of 4 tiny habits are the key to persistence, which is the single key to success, as revealed by W. Clement Stone and Napolean Hill, through their years of research on the phenomenon of success. Those steps are:

1. A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfillment;

2. A definite plan, expressed in continuous action;

3. A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends, and acquaintances;

4. Friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose.

Fourth, I feel optimistic to know, that thanks to the MKMMA Program, I have all four of these elements in place, and now my task is to claim what I want!

The MKMMA Program is the right program that came at just the right time for me, and for that I feel eternally grateful and much love for Mark J., Davene, my guide, Marie, and all the other brave souls in this alliance, including my ever-loving husband, Bruce.

I am now unstoppable!

Week 10 – Clearing the Circuit

I’m not an engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but I am coming to the realization that the strength and quality of the connection between my spiritual being and the Infinite source of power depends entirely on how clear I keep the connection. Without this connection, there is no power flow.

How do I keep the connection clear? This is becoming a minute-by-minute effort to not entertain negative thoughts, to not formulate or express opinions, and to not hold any resentments. If you think doing P90X every day is a strenuous physical workout, then try this mental workout for a day and you’ll see why it takes total focus.

The best way for me to succeed with this mental workout is to constantly focus on what I do want, not on what I don’t want. I see myself as a powerful, mighty woman who is clearing her channel to the Infinite source of power more and more each day. The more I clear the channel, the more I trust that the Infinite will deliver the resources I need to fulfill my purpose. The more I trust, the more I believe, and the more excited I get about what’s ahead for me in my life!

The daily reading in The Master Key System gives me a growing understanding of how the circuit between my spiritual being and the Infinite works. If I can control my thoughts and steer them towards what I want and infuse them with a lot of positive emotion, then I really can predict my future!

My three children kid me because I can’t live with dirty dishes in the kitchen. Whether I’m at home or in their homes, I’m usually on kitchen duty making sure the dishes are clean and put away.

While I’m not an engineer, I do know how to keep a clean kitchen! As I complete my domestic chores, I visualize that clear and clean circuit between me and the Infinite source of power.  This visualization supports my mental efforts to manifest the future I want!
